Shhh, this is for your eyes only. Face it, getting sick stinks. If you don't have to, why would you get sick? These 4 clandestine tips will keep you healthy and raring to go.

No one likes getting sick (at least not the for real sick that you're not using to try and get out of school or work). Really being sick simply does not make anyone very happy. You do, however, have more of a choice in the matter than you may think. In most cases, you can start right now by doing things that will decrease the likelihood of contracting an illness.

Before spilling the beans on the top secrets, however, realize that when our bodies decide to give up and allow invading forces to overtake us, there is usually some reasons and meanings for the surrender. The human physiological systems are actually pretty amazing at doing what nature and evolution designed them for. Sickness, however, usually picks on those of us who do very little to help their bodily machines get strong and stay ahead of the advancing forces of illness and disease.

So, the first secret is just that; doing what your body needs you to do in order to stay strong. One of the easiest and best ways to provide yourself with defenses is to be active. Exercise need not be world class athlete competition. Have a bike? Take a ride a few times a week.

No bike? Take a walk. With as little as 20 to 30 minute brisk walk a few times per week, you can start generating and circulating white blood cells throughout your body. Think of these little guys as your own personal disease fighting army. The more you have floating around, the better prepared you'll be when the office sickness makes its way into your cubicle.

The next top secret? Food! Plenty of it. But the food you consume needs to be the good stuff. It's okay to have a candy bar now and then, but every day at 2 P.M. on the dot washed down with a double cappuccino is not going to feed those white blood cell troops of yours.

Instead, try filling up on fruits and vegetables. Sure you can still enjoy a serving or two every week of your favorite red meat, but space those meals out. Insert some fresh fish and poultry into your diet as well.
Okay, you're moving around more and fueling yourself with the good stuff. Next secret? Shhhh. Don't forget about good oral hygiene. Much more than just brushing your teeth, you need to have a solid game plan to prevent sickness from entering your body through the oral cavity.

Research has shown that regular mouth washing, in addition to brushing regularly is a great way to reduce and prevent oral diseases from developing. Once you have bad health in your mouth, its only a stone's throw for that sickness to infect the rest of your waiting body.

A final top secret disease prevention tip is reducing your stress levels. You may think this is one of those fluffy list filling items, but there is a ton of research out there which indicates that people who are able to reduce and control the amounts of stress affecting them are also folks with less sickness in their lives.

When your body experiences stress, more of your disease fighting resources are sent out to deal with the new enemies causing the havoc in your life. While attempting to gain control of those nefarious influences, illness and disease can easily flank your troops and attack you when you least expect, or can hardly afford to be.

Some added bonuses which have been declassified but will still help you stay fit and healthy include getting proper rest. Stop watching every late night chat show while lying in bed.

Be positive. Good attitude keeps your troops in top fighting style. Oh, and wash your hands!
Above all, live a healthy lifestyle in mind and soul, and your body will be right there supporting you every step of the way.
