What Are The Similarities And Differences Between Chiropractors And Osteopaths?

>> Wednesday, December 21, 2011

To say simply, both chiropractors and osteopaths generally treat patients who have similar physical conditions. Not only that the chiropractors and osteopaths use techniques and mode of treatments that are somewhat similar with each other. This is noticeable that in Britain, the similarities between the two techniques are quite great since these two developed along similar but converging tracks. Laindon Chiropractic professionals generally diagnose their patients by concentrating on the spine and the area around. The treatment also involves more focus in that area. Osteopaths on the other hand do not entirely focus on the spine. Osteopathic treatment involves concentrating on the spine along with the joint and muscular systems.

Both in osteopathic and chiropractic treatment, the physicians view the human body in a more holistic manner. They consider the human body as a self healing, self contained, and fully interrelated. That is why they concentrate on the whole body while treating a patient rather than putting just an individual component on focus. Andrew Still was the one who came up with the idea of osteopathic treatment. After 21 years of that Daniel David Palmer, an ex student of Dr. Still came up with Chiropractic discipline1.

When treating their patients, the chiropractors basically concentrate on the alignment of the vertebrae and spine. This is the primary way that they are trying to release tension and pain all through the body. The spine is made of vertebrae. Vertebrae are responsible for protecting the spinal cord as well as the nerve branches that stem from it.  The vertebrae moves and shifts with regular activity and that misalign and also interfere with messages that the nerves send. It is believed that this disruption is the cause of constant pain all thorough the body.

Both osteopaths as well as chiropractors have this objective of relieving pain. However, it is noteworthy that osteopathy treats a whole variety of functional problems such as problems of the digestive as well as respiratory systems. If you are a resident of Laindon and looking for therapy in Laindon for neck pain, you can consider both chiropractics and also osteopathy for treatment.
