What Techniques Are Used To Overcome Drug Use
>> Monday, December 24, 2012
There are many programs across the country and many use the same techniques to help people overcome drugs and alcohol. Although thousands of Americans attend these same rehab programs, they are sadly not effective for the majority of people. Most rehabs have less than a 5% success rate, and statistic have shown that most people can overcome drugs on their own without ever needing treatment or rehab. Although there is substantial research on the lack of need for treatment, there are still a plethora of basic technique used in rehabs today.
Basic Treatment Techniques For Drug Use Include:
- Holistic treatment
- Yoga and Meditation
- Acupuncture
- Herbal Medicine
- Hypnosis
- Replacement Medication Therapy
- Detox Processes
- Group therapy
- 12 steps of AA as part of their rehab and recovery programs.
Another technique that is rather new to the industry is Cognitive Behavioral Education which can help an individual make informed decisions with respect to their own thoughts, behaviors and choices, which is offered currently at the Saint Jude Program. Remember you should always pick the program that best suits your needs. The most important think to know is that you can overcome a drug problem it just takes the right program and the desire to change. Do you research and make sure the program you are enrolling in has a verified success rate. If they do not, they could be fabricating the number and ever though they offer a variation of treatment techniques it does not mean any will necessary fix your problem for the long run. Try not to waste your time and money as rehab can be an extreme expense.
